Highmoor is able to offer many different options for those wishing to partake in competition tennis. We offer men’s, women’s and mixed competition. Currently, our teams are of varying standards, which is great for new members as there is a strong likelihood that you will fit into a team of your ability.

Highmoor currently fields many junior tennis teams. With so many different sections being available to play, it is likely that any junior will be able to find a team at Highmoor, whatever their standard. Read More…

Highmoor offers well-organised social tennis both during the day and at night. The details are provided below.

Commencing at 1 pm every Saturday afternoon, Highmoor dedicates at least three of its courts to organised social tennis. This is open to all members. New balls will be provided and players will be matched up according to their ability to play, and compete in one set doubles matches. Some matches will be mixed and some will be men’s/ women’s. There is no requirement for members to book a court in advance to coming down. We have up to five courts available for casual use during the day, and up to three available at night. Members do not have to pay a fee for casual court hire, and can access the courts at anytime using the key that they receive upon becoming a member.

Non-members are more than welcome to come and hire out our courts for casual hits of tennis. We have a very simple system for our rates, with the cost of daytime court hire being $5 per non-member, per hour. Read More…

Highmoor was officially formed in October, 1965, when our fourteen founding members decided to play tennis together and form a club. Highmoor was originally formed as a Church club, with members coming from Highett Presbyterian Church. However, in order to grow the numbers, the Moorabbin Presbyterian Church was also approached in order to lure those with an interest in tennis. Thus, the origins of the Highett and Moorabbin churches are how the term ‘Highmoor’ came about. Read More…
