Highmoor has five en-tout-cas tennis courts of which three have lighting available until 10pm. The club maintains the courts regularly to ensure they remain high quality.
Every player needs to ensure the courts are watered prior to every set and bagged after each set. Only flat soled tennis shoes may be worn on the courts. Runners or sport shoes with raised or edged soles damage the courts and cannot be worn on our courts.
In order to look after en-tout-cas tennis courts, it is important that the courts are regularly well watered. This is why we invested in a bore water system. The benefit of the bore water system is that there is no need to be conservative with watering the courts, resulting in optimal playing conditions all year round!
You cannot drink from the hoses on the courts as the bore water is not fit for drinking, however, drinking fountains are installed between each court.
As of Autumn, 2015, Highmoor installed brand new lights on Courts 1-3. Throughout the installation process, the club made a conscious effort to ensure that the lux level of the lights exceeds well beyond minimum requirements. The result is that the courts are very well lit without the inconsistencies that frustrate many night tennis players.
Our clubhouse, known as the “Hooppell Pavilion”, was recently renovated, and while not massive, it certainly does the job! The clubhouse is fully equipped with a kitchen, reverse cycle air-conditioning, LCD TV and a table tennis table.
